Physiotherapists use a variety of treatment techniques including; joint mobilisation, massage, exercise programmes and acupuncture. Your physiotherapist will also provide education and guidance about your condition, giving you the confidence to get back to normal activities quickly.

What should I expect when I visit the physiotherapist?

Your physiotherapist will start by taking a detailed history of your condition and any relevant past medical history. They will then carry out a physical examination to determine the clinical diagnosis. Your physiotherapist will discuss treatment options and work with you to develop a treatment plan that best meets your needs.

The initial appointment will last approximately 1 hour and follow up sessions last approximately 45mins. Your physiotherapist will give you an estimate of the number of treatments required and will give you the opportunity to ask questions about your condition and treatment.
