Travelling to WPNSA?


By train

The nearest train station to WPNSA is Weymouth (4.5 miles away).

South West Trains (0845 6000 650) provide a regular rail service between London Waterloo and Weymouth, calling at Southampton, Bournemouth, Poole and Dorchester South. The London Waterloo to Exeter St Davids service calls at Sherborne and Axminster (for Lyme Regis) and the Bristol Temple Meads to Weymouth service calls at Maiden Newton and Dorchester West.

There is a taxi rank at the station or you can walk around the corner to the bus station to catch a bus for the remainder of your journey.

By bus

The Academy is served Monday-Friday by the following bus:

Service 210/220 – You can catch this bus to travel to Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester. The bus station in Weymouth is located near the train station.

The Number 1 bus goes from Weymouth – Portland but does not stop at WPNSA. You can take it to Victoria Square at the bottom of Portland and WPNSA is ten minutes walk back across the beach road.

By car

From Dorchester: Take A354 to Weymouth

From Poole and Bournemouth: Take A352, which then becomes A353 to Weymouth

From Bridport: Take B3157 to Weymouth

When you arrive at Weymouth:

Take the A354 to Portland. This will bring you to the causeway linking Weymouth and Portland. Halfway along the causeway you will reach a mini-roundabout. Turn left, we are signposted ‘Sailing Academy’

By Air
