Sous Chef

Do you enjoy variety, challenge and working as part of a team? We’re currently looking for A Sous Chef to join us at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.

Our kitchen produces a wide range of food and no two days will be the same - whether it’s feeding teams of hungry sailors or producing Canapes for a wedding reception - there will be plenty to do and you won’t be bored!

Your main responsibilities as a Chef:

  • Working alongside fellow Chefs
  • Producing dishes to meet the required standards
  • Ensuring food safety and health and hygiene
  • Confidently supporting a kitchen team during a busy service in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Take part in creating new dishes and writing new menus

This job is full time and there will be typically NO split shifts but will involve evening and weekend work.

The ideal person for this role will have:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work under pressure and on their own initiative
  • Flexibility to react to changing business needs
  • Team working skills
